Because I'm really aggravated by this woman. And I really need to go through everything wrong with what's she is saying here.
Firstly.....I dont know why people with this attitude even come to the hospital. All shes doing is slamming the staff. Dismissing everything they did. Like seriously lady YOU showed up to the hospital for a reason....if you know so much and have it under control why even bother nurses and doctors in the first place if all you are going to do is shit on them?
She starts off saying her husband got sick. She says "regular pneumonia". Her husbands oxygen saturation was fucking 79%....and she shrugs this off as "kinda bad". 79. And you dont know how long his body has been starving for oxygen. Her husband is fucking hypoxic ....you can fucking DIE or suffer severe organ damage...so yeah way to minimize a medical emergency.
Then she says Covid pneumonia is some "elusive" thing and they dont even know what it means. Um...what? We know EXACTLY what Covid pnemonia is. It means your Covid infection has caused mucus and fluid build up in your lungs. You can get influenza pnemonia as well. So no it's certainly NOT elusive. She also slams hospital protocol regarding ppe for confirmed Covid. Which is a fucking stupid criticism.
And then shes dismissing them sending her husband to ICU. Essentially saying he didnt really need ICU and the only reason they are sending these people to ICU is so...I quote..."they can say the ICUs are flooded". Omfg. No. Her fucking husband presented with 79% oxygen, he is hypoxic and his organs are being deprived of oxygen and have been for hours...he has active covid pneumonia. He has an infectious virus. So he needs the high acuity of a 2 pt 1 nurse ICU setting where he can be more closely monitored in a double negative pressure room. Throwing him on oxygen isnt enough.
Then she starts bitching about the possibility of a vent. Then complaining about how there are several doctors. Since he was ICU with this going on(you know....hypoxemia and viral fucking pnemonia) those "tons of different doctors" were no doubt specialists. You know, a pulmonologist, cardiologists, a few residents and shifting attendings. It sounds he is getting excellent care. Her husband is having a full blown medical emergency and she legit thinks they just diagnosed him with Covid pnemonia instead of "regular" pnemonia so they could put him in ICU so they can "say" ICUs are full.....and that if it were "regular pnemonia" he would be sent home for chicken soup after a few hours of oxygen support.
You show up in an ER with pnemonia....especailly in both lungs....with 79% oxygen sat....you are not going home for soup. This is fucking serious. And it's definitely not as simple as getting oxygen for a few hours. Your body needs to be able to keep that oxygen going to your organs without help and you will be monitored for a few days to make sure.
Then shes bitching about ppe protocols. That she was asked to change her gown. And I doubt the nurse said "there is Covid on it". She likely said its contaminated. Covid isnt the only reason you gown up. And yeah....your skin is also contaminated, so right there next to the clean disposable gowns there is a sink to wash your hands and arms. I notice she left out the gloves that I know she was asked to wear along with her gown and likely a mask. This is normal in an ICU because ICU has medically fragile people and they dont want you taking viruses out of the room. She thinks shes wearing ppe for her safety....no. This dumb shit doesnt understand shes wearing ppe so SHES not spewing viruses all over the damn ICU. Yeah she "slept in bed with him" for days....that's the fucking point. Also, once he is admitted it's now the hospitals job to make sure no other pathogens are brought to him.
She keeps saying that none of this makes "medical common sense".....wtf does THAT mean? That all these people paid and busted ass through nursing/medical school when all they needed was "medical common sense"? They didnt HAVE to let her on the ICU at ALL. How about some fucking gratitude for people who are working 18 hour shifts taking care of suffering humans and dealing with pain in the ass hateful family members?
Look.....questioning nurses and doctors is what everyone should do. But all shes doing is shitting on them for NOTHING. They are trying to help her husband who IS in a medical emergency and she is just talking horribly about them. Like they are just a bunch of idiots who are just needlessly fucking around.....because they all have time for that.

Did she take a sample of mucus and check it in a lab? Why is that suspicious? Wtf is suspicious about that? Shes went into this with a shitty, bias bad faith attitude. She says "3 years ago it would have been regular pneumonia". No idiot. She doesnt understand what pnemonia is, and it can be caused by SEVERAL issues. Pnemonia is a condition caused by a virus. Or a bacteria. Or some sort of irritant. It's not in itself just "regular pnemonia". Its always caused by something.
So yeah now that we have covid....add it to the list of issues that can cause pnemonia. His pnemonia was caused by Covid.
Then she goes on to lie about how she TOLD the doctor she wanted IV vit C. And apparently she was told "we dont do that. It's not protocol". That isnt how this works. Vit C isnt a treatment for anything .. .that doctor could give it no problem unless it would have interacted badly with something else. And since she claims they diagnosed him with Covid for money....why the fuck wouldnt they go ahead and get paid for the IV C? Shit if I were gonna make up a diagnosis for money I'd be giving everything I could make a buck on. I bet she asked the doctor for it and he just went ahead and ordered it. It's just a vitamin. And the CDC does NOT provide doctors with protocols. The hospital itself does. The CDC gives recommendations.
The "death rate" of a vent? Yeah going on a vent is a hail mary. You were probably going to die anyway. You are bad bad off by the time you get vented. There were issues at first with venting people too soon when it was new. Now? They only do it if they cant stabalize the patient with oxygen through a nasal cannula or with a Cpap or whatever. They asked about the vent AHEAD of time, just in case things went south quickly they would already have consents. You know....so he isnt laying there dying and suffocating until consent can be given. They like to have these scenarios all worked out in advance in case its needed. That's why they were talking about it the minute she got in there. ....according to her.
You know what else they ask? If you have a will. If you have a POA. If you are an organ donor. These are all normal questions you are asked as you get admitted. ICU for pnemonia with hypoxemia? Yeah.....you get ask about vents. Because they CAN refuse and this isnt a drama to save for the last critical minute.

There is no protocol for Covid. Not everyone goes on vents. Most patients hospitalized for Covid do NOT get a vent. They get oxygen and steroids. You want vitamins? Have it. They'll give it to you. There are no "protocol" like what she is claiming. Doctors and nurses are not bots just following orders from the CDC. They assess and treat. They are sitting around waiting for patients to decline, go on vents and die.
