Actually I kind of think McConnell deliberately set Trump up for defeat in Georgia because he witheld support for the $2000 stimulus cheques which the incumbant senators Loeffler/Perdue and Trump supported.

Getting rid of Trump was always McConnell's end game anyways. The 2 never seemed to see eye to eye.

10-25 GOP Senators expected to vote yes on impeachment. It all depends on McConnell as he can block returning the Senate until the 19th but if he wants he just has to agree with Schumer and he can reconvene tomorrow if he wants. Trump may regret stabbing McConnell in the back.
