I say it's about time, now that Fanduel and other betting platforms are all over pro sports marketing.

Shame Pete didn't live to see it.

With all the bullshit going on in sports and the gambling going on by the higher ups who handed Charlie Hustle the horseshit lifetime ban it makes me sick of it all.

How many "record holders" have astericks by their name because of steroids?

How many astericks does Pete Rose have?

FUCKING NONE.

Asterick having record having asteRick Astley rick rolled bums.

Pete Rose = FUCKING LEGEND

Especially Shoeless Joe. It was way before my time as a WHITE SOX fan, but he remains a legend around here.

Didn't Joe bet against his team?

Didn't Pete Rose always bet his team would win?

As long as they played their fucking hearts out, and left their hearts on the field, that's all that matters.

As I recall Joe and his team mates conspired to alter the outcome of the game.

At the time most were juicing...

Some got focused on and others not so much.
Not everyone was using. Estimates vary but none claims 100%.
. Legit guesses are 20s%, that meaning that some of those used a bit here and there while others were full bore.
When for example you have players who never hit 40 HRs suddenly hitting 65 and others completely obliterating 60-70 year old records then you take a look at them. That has to do with preserving the integrity of the game, and the sanctity of the numbers which define player achievements. There is nothing legitimate about Bonds, Sosa, or McGwire's HR totals. They should never be in the record books, and the players (among others) should never be inducted into the Hall. There should be no such inducements to cheat. Baseball more than any other sport is one where numbers like 755 and 61, or .401 and .367 are sacred, and spiting on them by glory hounds should not be tolerated...not one bit.

Juicing doesn’t create skill it just helps muscle mass and energy. I couldn’t swallow a bunch of roids and replace Jalen Brunson tomorrow night as an example

.
That's right, so the massive increase in HRs. Another thing it does is keep players on the field.
Taking McGwire as and example, his biggest obstacle to breaking the single season record was staying healthy.
Take a look at his games played per year and you can see suddenly he hits 70 then 65 while playing a higher number of games. It seems the HGH helps injuries heal and kept him on the field as well as increased strength.

You could also look at Bonds and ask how he suddenly started batting .370. Nothing suspicious about that.
That doesn't necessarily suggest a difference in skill level, but that a player has the physical strength (late in career) to make full utility of their skills.

Plus by all accounts Bonds is an asshole.

What's that pitcher that juiced...Nolan Ryan?

It really sucks, to be sure. I think they should be left out of record books, that will be a disincentive unless all they care about is their contracts and money.
