@Dove a parallel situation to the Ukraine War historically was the Korean War.

Your President, Harry Truman, sent the American troops in there along with a NATO alliance which included Canada, to prevent North Korea and China from swallowing up South Korea.

Truman got a lotta flack from the US and other nations for his decision.
And he got a lot more for years to come and esp during the Vietnam War because it was held up as some bad decision which led to vietnam.

However fast forward 70 years later - and South Korea is an economically thriving democracy where its citizens are free to travel study and even emigrate to just about any nation they want. They are a major trading partner of the United States and a major security partner.

The US and NATO saved South Korea.

And what of its neighbor North Korea? An impoverished authoritarian police state where famines are widespread. Where COVID is spiralling out of control. Where millions have died from starvation.

So when you contrast the 2 countries, I'd say that Harry Truman made the right decision. That War cost the US close to 40,000 servicemen's lives, but it also made the Korean miracle possible. Remember, the US saved South Korea and that nation owes its existence to you people and the sacrifices primarily of American soldiers.

Not everything the US has done in the past is wrong or has had poor results.
