They think that "beliefs" "faiths," whatever you want to call it is unscientific.
They don't believe God created the universe, they think it magically happened. The Big Bang Theory.
Actually, it's the other way around, Cas. Magic is when some invisible dude in the sky snaps his fingers and things pop into existence.
Science just says, "We're still looking into this remarkable occurence. We'll keep you posted as further developments arise."
We dont believe in a "magic dude in the sky" though.
Or invisible dude. Or wizard or fairy or old man
People who believe in God dont think like that. That's what people who dont believe in God insist and its ridiculous.
It's really NOT the other way around. When one of us says there is a God.....you already dont know what we are saying and you have your constructs ready(sky fairies...mold men in the sky) rooted in religion/sentiment and tradition.
God isnt even a male.......but all things male and female come from Him. He is neither and both simultaneously.
You need to understand who and want God IS to someone who believes to properly have that discussion. Many many of you think the invisible dude in the sky is some go to.
If you create a fantasy and say "hey....this is a fantasy"......no shit! Lol.
We arent arguing a magic dude. We are the source of life itself. Tell us where life came from with out a source and why we dont see other planets teaming with it. If you like the alien seeding.....who seeded the seeders? What IS life with out God?
Even macro evolution is just a second cause theory. It doesnt even touch the big questions.
I would bet God caused a pretty big bang when He started speaking things into existence. It isnt magic at all. Magic would be this suddenly happening by itself with no prompting or guiding and we have never ever witnessed life arising from nonlife. We see life coming from life.
This is the kind of Dove post that makes my asshole slam SO PAINFULLY SHUT that none of you could drive a six penny nail up it with a 28 ounce framing hammer.
Don't get me wrong; I agree with a lot of Dove's thoughts. And I don't want to argue with any of you about the existence and nature of the Godhead, the fucking Source
from whence all of this reality (both physical and metaphysical) emanates and
to whence it probably returns. And I realize that in saying that I probably give some clues to my own PERSONAL reality, which is mine to enjoy and struggle with, not any of yours.
No, my only intent here is to say why so many Dove posts make my asshole slam shut.
I think it's a lot more about style, than about content.
You see, when Dove argues her words seem to come out of a personal thinking style in which (on the table in front of HER) there are two boxes. One is labeled THEY and the other is labeled US. I have those two boxes also, in front of me, but I also have a third box labeled ME and a fourth box labeled YOU.
Thus, when I read a Dove post I must first do a lot of head scratching to try and comprehend the way her pronoun usages prevent me from understanding what she is trying to say. And even if I am charitable in my decisions to sort her thoughts into my FOUR boxes, I will then find that in trying to respond to her using my boxes, she will most typically not understand what I am saying but will instead try and jam my pronouns into her TWO boxes. And then we'll be off into a pointless discussion where we are basically NOT speaking the same language. I at least can see the congruences of thought as far as the content of the discussion goes, but mostly she will view me as an ideological adversary even when I have clearly stated that we are not.
I don't know how to fix this. At times I've thought it's just a well executed TROLL, but she's so fucking EARNEST that it's hard for me to take such a jaundiced view.
Can anyone help me, or should I just go back to not reading her posts?
