I believe that Hotel California by The Eagles should have been made the National Anthem of the United States of America. It is no coincidence that this glorious song was released around the time of the 200th anniversary of the founding of our great nation.

Admin do you know the lyrics to Hotel California?

You literally just condemned the Star Spangled Banner .....a song about freedom and victory....as a song about "glorifying slavery"(I'm assuming that's your premise here....if not correct me. It's not easy following the logic of people who do not live in the same reality as me and dont communicate clearly) and promoted a song directly about actual enslavement.

The song is a metaphor of being enslaved by your own hedonism/desires/doing ....."we are all just prisoners here, of our own device"

I mean sure I can see it applying to the American perspective but my reasons seem pretty far from yours.

Just interesting you would put Hotel California up against the Star Spangled Banner and say it's because HC doesnt "glorify slavery" when it's literally about slavery.

Let's make this the DNC anthem

It works lol

3rd Verse.,

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore,
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion
A home and a Country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash’d out their foul footstep’s pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

You are an educated guy, right?

Do you know what it means to glorify something?

Do you understand this verse of the song and what it is saying? How do you read this and see glorification of slavery?
