Thoughts On The Upcoming Mike Tyson Vs. Jake Paul Fight?

I just hope Mikie doesn't get hurt.
.. Mike was a devastating puncher, but like Rhonda Rousey, when finally a fighter(s) decided to stop fighting defensively and go on the attack, the defensive weaknesses showed. I blame that Robin Givens for emasculating him. In any case as BF noted, this is just about the cha-chings, not about real heavyweight fighting.

Rousey's chin went, if I remember correctly. Once you cannot take a punch, you are in trouble.

I have not seen any footage of Tyson sparring. I have no idea if his old man head can take a punch.

The more I have seen of Mike Tyson lately, the more I have changed my opinion.

I think he is probably going to get knocked out.

Not that I have seen much of him: They only show these little 3 and 4 second clips of him hitting pads. No sparring at all. No getting hit.

Yeah, he has good foot movement. Yeah, he has decent speed. And he does have good head movement at times. But then, it is right there: His big old man head is right there to be punched. And I do not think he still has the reaction speed to slip a punch well. If this Jake Paul clown times a big shot right (and the timing does NOT have to be very precise), I think he should put Tyson on his back.

Do we know how hard Tyson is punching? I watch those clips and, although it is hard to tell for sure, he does not look like he is putting much behind the punches.

Well, I'm sure if you like professional wrestling you'll enjoy this spectacle too.

If memory serves, the fight is it considered an exhibition? Usually, fighters hold back a little, don't they?

Why?

I think the reason this is an "exhibition match" is probably for legal reasons - they probably could not get a license to have a sanctioned boxing match involving an old man.

I dunno, for 'an old man' Tyson still looks very impressive close up:

And to think he's 'just training' in that clip.

...Could you take a Tyson punch, @The Prowler?

Somehow I highly doubt it.

He'd probably kill you & while you were dying you would feel it Prowler.

If you were in the ring with him, ya'd likely drop to yer knees & beg fer mercy, eh Prowler?

I have no idea if Tyson can take a punch. I am not even sure if I can still take a punch as I have not been hit hard in years. That said, I do still spar. I have seen nothing from Tyson that shows him sparring lately.

You wanna be my warmup fight before my Tyson match, Senile @Joe?

One guy who probably had just as devastating punch as Tyson was Cuban Boxer Teofilo Stevenson.

Here, he knocks out @The Prowler with just one punch:

That's what Tyson'd do to him too. lol

I will fight you, then @Alticus as warmups for my Tyson match.

To make it a little fair, I will only be allowed to throw punches for the first 15 seconds and the last 15 seconds of each 3 minute round.

You are gonna bleed.

A lot.

Ya'd die of a heart attack in the ring before Tyson even landed a punch ifya had ta face him @The Prowler.

And the headlines would read something like:

Canadian Ontario Man Dies in Match Against Tyson

(AP/Reuters) - Today an Ontario Man going under the name 'The Prowler' who bragged that he could defeat Mike Tyson, stepped into the ring with him died before either was able to land a punch. The apparent cause of death was heart attack.

Says Tyson, "He dahed b'fo I could even hit im! Jes' fell down on da canvas with his ahyes wahd open wid' feah. But Ah say, that was the easiest $ 5 million ah evah made in mah careeh! goddam whate boyh!"

I don't think you have any concept how good, skilled and strong these professional athletes are @The Prowler

You constantly insist that Mike Tyson is 'old'.

Yeah when he was 20, he had the strength of 10 men and could probably beat them all up at the same time.

But of course being 'old', now he only has the strength of 5 men and could beat them up all at the same time.

Geez no wonder you cherish your imitation World Series Belt - cuz it allows you to live in this fantasy world that you are 'one of them'.

You and me, Senile @Joe.

Warmup for my Tyson fight.

When do you want to do this, you senile old fuck?

Here's another 'training video' fer you ta watch @The Prowler:

...even Ferocious Foreman didn't wanna face 'Iron Mike'.

And Foreman was one mean mothafucka who destroyed boxers that even defeated Muhammad Ali

Norton:

Joe Frazier:

I don't even think you could last one punch against Tyson, Prowler.

He even those he's almost 60, might kill or disable you fer life, eh?

Tyson was overrated. They kept him away from the best heavyweights to build his reputation. When he finally fought the top heavyweights, he got beat.

But.....

First you and me, Senile @Joe.

Then I deal with Tyson.
