My GOD how she LOVED swimming ... I ended up getting her her own little pool (: it's frozen in the backyard now ... like my heart ):

One evening this past spring I went for a ride on my bike ... it was very cold that night and I said to myself 'self, it's cold let's go home'
I took a diff way home than usual and was shivering, I happened across a scene of Raccoon carnage, bloody squished bodies of the Mom and 3 siblings and ONE lonely little girl raccoon against the curb crying .. really crying
I took my sweatshirt off and was FROZEN now .. so what ! I scooped that baby up and brought her home ... we have been INSEPARABLE .. it was so hard to go to work in the morn I needed a babysitter NO SHIT .. she would cry and cry for me ..
as she grew into a bigger girl she started wandering doing Raccoony things so I paid someone to give her her shots as not to be infected by other Raccoons out there, distemper and a whole myriad of things they can get ... she was good to go (:
Well, she hasn't come home for 3 nights now
Despite my hours of wandering calling her name which usually has her RUNNING to me she is NOWHERE to be found ..

It's just the same as any pet we get attached to mate but she's a wild animal at heart and their instincts will kick in to do raccoon things... I wouldn't be surprised if she turns up unexpectedly especially since it's winter and food will be hard to come by...

sorry to hear of your loss ( temporary absence ) of your buddy ....maybe some raccoon pheromones and a pile of veggies near your backyard could draw her home. Chances are she isn't too far away.

Yeah I agree. A lot of rescued animals like birds and squirrels will hang around the vicinity or visit from time to time. Put some snacks out on the back deck X.

I'm sorta' a one man wildlife rescue ... I certainly understand they will go, wild animals of course

It's just that I walked this Racoon as a mother would, my area is her 'Zone' hunger does not drive her, nor does the yearning for a mete exist yet ... she has 3 GIGANTIC trees she is ALWAYS in and when hungry comes home, when cold and tired comes to her heated den ...my VOICE brings this animal down from ANY tree immediately ...
I've been calling and calling ..
