Which browser are you using? Some browsers give the user the ability to mute tabs. Take a close look and make sure your BF tab isn't muted.

Chrome.. eta i shut tabs and it works now

Yep, Chrome and most Chromium-based browsers allow tab muting. If you accidentally clicked on the wrong part of the tab, you may have muted audio from that tab.
