Now just to get back on track here, it should be pointed out that Trump wanted out of NATO, so Ukraine would already have been invaded and reabsorbed by Putin. Biden at least has drawn a line which Putin has now begun to back away from, hopefully avoiding the war which under Trump would already have begun.
Biden has only said he was willing to act militarily if it spilled across the borders of NATO nations. Clearly he is trying to avoid war by strong diplomacy - something weak on Russia Trump would never have done..

....of course, to back fellow NATO nations is part and parcel of being a member. The effort now is being made to avoid war by not taking a weak Trumpian position with Putin. Liberals, of course, unlike conservatives who worship war, all hope to avoid war through strong diplomacy. Let's hope Putin isn't the desperate fool he often appears to be.
