From what I have seen if your birth certificate doesn’t match your ID or license you can’t vote unless you have a passport. Luckily, as a married woman, I carry my maiden name so if it becomes a problem, I can still vote. I don’t follow typical news outlets so I’m not buying into the fear mongering. I am legitimately fearful because every time I turn around is like oh your rights might not exist tomorrow. And I’m honestly absolutely fucking tired of it. We’ve been treated this property and it’s not going to happen anymore by any means. And yes, some fucking people really want that. But keep acting like it’s not a reality with some people maybe not you but some people it definitely is. That’s why we’re choosing bears over men.

No, they're pitching a fit because they got married and now their married name doesn't match their birth certificate. I don't want people entering illegally but I'd like for legal citizens to not lose rights because of a technicality.

I have the sneaking suspicion that accompanying the birth certificate with the marriage license (or whatever documentation goes along with a legal marriage-related name change) would make that a non-issue. Marriage-related name changes leave a paper trail.

The fact remains that everything you need in order to authenticate your identity in order to vote is also needed for identity authentication for shitloads of other activities in adult life.
