That's where vermelho (red in portugee) comes from

Very different from "rojo", which sounds like "roxo" (purple) in portuguese

Is that how you say purple in Portuguese? In Mexican Spanish we say "morado".

My ex husband had a good Portuguese-American friend...he's called my ex Chile Pepper...so he called him Putogues.

Morado here is the past participle of "live somewhere" verb

"Se eu tivesse morado no Japão teria aprendido Japonês"

If I had lived in Japan, I'd have learned Japanese

To move (as is from one place to live to another) is "mudar"...

"Si me hubiera mudado a Japon, habria aprendido Japones".
