So every Valentine's Day my wife and I have a nice romantic dinner.

We eat in our formal dining room with our good fine bone china and our best flatware and crystal wine glasses.

By candlelight.

With soft music.

But this year I am going to an Offspring concert with a buddy.

So we are going to have our nice dinner on Sunday.

I thought you all should know.

Especially @Murdy

At least you're paying hundreds to see a 60 year old sing.

My wife wants us to pay hundreds to see Frankie Valli.

He's 91. NINETY FUCKING ONE. LET THAT SINK IN....

Dude probably cannot even rasp let alone sing. Fuck that.

I have scruples. Yaknow?!?

Let's just say my bucket list does not in any way include paying to see someone currently kicking the bucket.

Offspring is still touring?!

Probably someone (here) thinks of me when he hears this :O

Yeah they are.

But I'd rather spend billz on Judas Priest.

No offense to seniors in The Offspring in their 60's but Rob Halford aka the Godfather of Metal & gang still going in their 70's are a better bang for your buck.

I want my face rocked off. Not glazed.

The tickets were only $90.40 each with all fees and taxes.

You do not have to go. My wife is not going to see The Offspring because it is not her thing....she spent over $200 for a ticket to see a Tina Turner tribute musical thing....I did not go because I did not think it was worth it (for me).

The Offspring have some really catchy tunes. Too many to list.

Was it the Aussie group doing the Tina Turner tribute? I know a guy who knows them personally.

I think it was just called "Tina!"

It was a Broadway show that they took on the road....the same production and performers.

My wife said ti was really good.

My wife's thing is Depeche Mode & Echo and the Bunnymen.

If Depeche Mode does another round I'll be there with her for it. Because I believe in it too.

I support her love of keyboardists more than she is not a fan of my guitarists. I'm fine with that. To see something from the eyes of the love of your life is really not so bad as simping for someone who doesn't know you exist.

But I get your be yourselves thing.

I went with by bro in law on April 14, 2001 to see Godsmack supported by Cold, Staind & Systematic.

Easter was the very next day.

And 9/11/2001 was not far off.

End of story is my bro in law became divorced from my sis in law and he died in a freak traffic accident.

I want to hold on but not so tight as to smother and yet so tight as to understand.

It is a delicate balance. You see?

You do you.

If my wife wants to spend a few hundred dollars to see a performer, I do not make a big deal about it. But she only goes to a few shows a year.

But when I say "Let here go." I am not giving you an order or anything. Haha!!

"Only 90.40 each" Jeezus....I remember in the 90s they were like 35 bucks lol.

I saw NIN/Bowie for 65 bucks. Metallica for 30. Type O Neg for 15 haha.

I dont think i ever paid more than 100 for concert tickets. My daughter just went to Opeth for free the other night.

Ha! I got all you young fuckers beat. Back in my day concert tickets to big names were like 10 bucks. I remember being pissed because a "Monsters of Rock" all day fest with AC/DC, Nazareth, Cheap Trick and Heart cost $15.95.

25-30 years ago, music festival tickets were about 60-70 bucks and you could see any band you wanted... or flip them the behind middle fingers as you were walking out of their big tent start because they were suing Napster yet admitted to eating ham on hand while buying bootleg cassette tapes.

I am pretty sure my ticket to see The Who in 1982 was $18 or so.
