Imagine actually trusting or supporting the FBI. It's been compromised and thoroughly corrupt for decades.
See how she just totally ignores the fact that the charges against Kyle were the corrupt and political bullshit and so were all the establishment lies?
Fuck the regular people.
And can you imagine that some people didn't even want or thought Rittenhouse shouldn't stand trial after he gunned down and killed 2 people?
Guilty or not there still has to be a semblance of due process.
I am most concerned about the precedent set by this trial. Bad news for everyone.
Allowing unlicensed untrained 16 year olds to carry a military grade weapon around - yes that poses a threat to the public.
And yes that precedent does erode democracy because if every dispute is settled out of the barrel of a gun society eventually become dysfunctional.
He looked trained to me. Hit his targets pretty well and didnt hurt anyone who wasnt attacking him.
And your feelings are not laws and you cant enforce your feelings.....sorry.
You arent the fucking judge of democracy, Joe. Maybe figure out what it is. You are playing dictator and calling it democracy.
Hey Dovey, I think what you fail to understand, and I repeat myself, I was not on the side of Kyle Rittenhouse or his attackers. As far as the incident that night, I'm not really sure who was guilty or innocent. I've watched the video and quite honestly I can't make up my mind. Therefore, I've chosen not to endorse either one.
It's the gun ruling by Judge Bruce Schroeder that I find most alarming and why I've pointed out that lax gun laws and poor decisions will lead to an erosion of democracy in your country.
You see, this it works - and I'll cite a real life incident which occured when you were just an infant.
The day that John Lennon was killed in New York City. He was walking along withi his wife Yoko, minding his own biz, when some guy shot him to death.
The result was the loss of perhaps one of the greatest musical geniuses and influential figures of our Western culture in the history of Civilization. Killing Lennon was like murdering Leonardo da Vinci or Albert Einstein. It left a gaping hole. I know you weren't old enough remember it, but many of us do. And it's almost as if this cultural revolution that he spawned as a member of the Beatles died that instant. The wonderful 60s was over and the mean and lean 80s which you are a product of was ushered in. I remember that transition too. It was very harsh.
And what happened is afterward, many musicians sorta went underground and didn't make themselves public anymore. They hired bodyguards, they became less accessible to the public lest they wind up dead like John Lennon.
Actually I drove someone in Vancouver, an American musician who worked for one of the leadings stars in the industry, and he told me the guy has huge levels of security. There's people with guns to guard him. No one can walk into his dressing room as there are 2 or doors to pass before anyone can meet 'the Star'. There's no hippy dippy time anymore when you could meet the greatest cultural icon on the street anymore.
And this goes for other celebrities too. That incident changed our cultural fabric. Made people feel less safe, less open. So as a result we lost access to many of them. Whatever your race, gender or political persuasion, your favorite stars are no longer accessible. Likewise if you're an Evangelical Christian, your favorite preacher is not surrounded by a bevy of bodyguards, whereas 40 years ago, you would have been able to go up on the stage and shake hands with Billy Graham. But of course, those days are long gone now. Thanks in large part to gun violence.
that is an example of how a society made unsafe with guns, becomes less open and democratic. And if American streets are full of angry gun toting men with AR 15s, democracy begins to shut down. Nobody trusts anyone anymore. And then or course surveillance becomes the norm, governments spy on us whatever. You and everyone else become less free. Get to the point where a person starts to fear going to Las Vegas (where the worse mass shooting took place) or a concert.
so...it's something for you to think about.
I've been around a bit longer than you have, but I sure remember how much more open and safe our societies including yours used to be.
