I drove a diesel freight train once for a few hours. Another person these boards called me a liar and a troll... but I still drove that train.

I also at another time took a 785 dump truck for a joy ride through the narrow streets of a desert mining town. If something is made for driving, I'll always have a go.

I often get hired to drive or operate things I've never been in before or even considpered. People see that it in me...

Never driven a CAT digger before but plenty of Komatsu's. First time ever.... 2 minutes of guidance along a sheer drop face in a deep gully full of bamboo. I was told to knock down the bamboo so the owner wouldn't scratch the paint on his brand new dozer... lol

Yeah, operating them is easy, working them, not so much LOL

The one I used was in a job, very plain area, used it a few times to move rocks around to allow vehicles to come in

I preferred the dozers and skidsteers though... they were set up for forestry work and had all the recovery options.... but there were times where I went.... oh fuck, I had a good life.

they used to put large rocks on the back roads to stop unauthorized people from coming into the site

Yeah, I had my share of scares with forklifts

One time a beam slid backwards and hit right on the cabin sit

I was sent in weeks or months before the crew followed to clear up rock falls, mudslides, and foliage so the graders, excavators, and rollers didn't tumble down the mountain for a kilometre.
