I work Dispatch and walk weekend patrol. You've seen the badge, probably, here in the SB and in my posts in the pic thread. The Desert Rangers operate across Navajo County. The funny thing is, it started as a joke; based on a video game franchise. But what we do is serious. We're not law enforcement, despite the badges -- those are just so people know who we are and what we're doing. We're more like a volunteer civic service organization. We help people out in the community who don't have phones or other social support systems.

This past week, for example, an older lady had to move from one place to another; she couldn't afford movers. I organized a few Rangers and we went over and got her stuff moved to her new place for her.

Yeah, it's kind of needed here on the Rim. We also don't *usually* go strapped, except when there's a Fugie notice out, then we more or less have to. But that's why we screen applicants for felonies.

We're not strictly a law enforcement body. And the population here in Holbrook isn't exactly booming. Somebody who shoplifted a lolly when he was 10 isn't exactly a danger to the community now.

Alticus, these are just examples of how you have never really entered adulthood. And I think you are an old fucker too. I think I read that you are 49 or 50....is that right? At your age, why is it that you have never married? Or not settled down and bought a home?
Why not start the new year off right with a donation to our beloved community?
