That's why I'd never be a mod even if offered the post -- which I never will be. But when 'you can't solve the problem' is a hard and fast rule, there's just no point being put into a position where you're expected -- but not allowed -- to solve problems.
With a laptop, the logic board (as Apple calls it; motherboard in Windows terms) is underneath the keyboard -- which is typically not sealed up except in military-grade or "ruggedized" laptops. Which means that any spill runs the chance of frying not the keyboard but the *whole computer.*
