but we have access to fresh veggies from several farms so its kind of the same

Well, fresh is fresh. But I enjoy the whole thing, propagating, sowing seeds, etc.

I have these beautiful orange Cannas starting to bloom and also this deep purple agapanthus about to bloom.

I'm going to put those in together in a vase, they'll be stunning.

We had a garden a couple years ago but it was a community garden. Nice plot, but we had to haul our own water and it was really way too much work shlepping everything from our place to there and back every day

So @Lily, I was pretty gung ho about it for a couple seasons, but the water hauling killed it. I was using water from the building to fill these 3 20 gallon pour containers and it was just too much

It's not hard to add a spigot if you have a water source close by.
