They won't need to produce so much mindless consumer crap that they don't care about anyway and as a bonus it'll free up more resources to enhance their own lifestyles. After the initial investment in machinery and infrastructure the labor is basically free (minus energy costs). A cut in production just means they can charge more for each item/service and use that model to control whoever's left and not part of their club. I'm not sayingg that's definitely the plan, but to me it seems like the way they probably think.

I'm not part of that club. I can't imagine needing a gold toilet or a boat that you can park another boat in or an elevator for your multi-level personal vehicle garage but these things exist. How should I know what someone like that wants or why? But they do.
