I've always been of the mind that THATS how you do bongs, as 1 hits and the bowl becomes the carbeurator which you open by sucking the plant matter into the tube. But I'm oldschool.

I stopped holding the flame directly on the weed in the bowl. All it does is ruin the haul and burn your flowers down too fast.
