There's a lot of organic matter left because of all the leaves, we also spread the coffee peels around. And with all the rain, you can do the math.

With my aquaculture funnily enough, I have to add salt and bicarbonate to raise the pH, because my rainwater is very acidic from all the carbon. A consequence from the massive bush fires in my region. Acidic rain essentially!

Too many nutrients for sure. Would your region also be prone to algal blooms?
I've already noticing an increase in algae in the river. It usually goes away once the rainy season starts, but the green stuff sticking to the rocks is all over these days

People are growing a lot of fruit and vegetables too, so they've been using a lot of manure and compost. And a lot of it ends up in the waterways, unfortunately.

We’ve had a few of the same issues here. Just last month there was a massive amount of dead fish washing up. The local council is calling it a “natural” occurance! Yeah right!
