Guts is from New Vegas Bounties II; he was owned by a bounty hunter you find deceased. Basically, he's like Dogmeat from FO3.

Rosa used to run with the Fiends; something (she won't say what) happened between her and Cook-Cook (seeing as it's Cook-Cook, you can probably guess what that something was.) So she bailed on the Fiends.

Point being that (like the FO3 Dogmeat) you find Guts guarding the corpse of his former owner, then take him along with you.

Yeah! You can hit special Easter Egg encounters that are fucking priceless...

You may never see them through entire gameplays unless you do the roll across the map (to the East) at the begining of the game. Takes a while...
