EenVandaag reported in March that the increase in the number of lovemaking is not a direct predictor of more births. Apparently this applies in The Hague, but what about the rest of the Netherlands?

The Royal Dutch Organization of Midwives (KNOV) says that the phenomenon in The Hague is not representative of the entire country. Vanou Krikke of ZiNkraamzorg and De Kraamvogel - active in the Netherlands above the rivers - agrees and sees no increase in the number of registrations at both maternity care agencies.
Midwife Tamara van Weijlen of Midwifery Practice Beverwijk also does not receive more requests. “August and September are normally the busiest months for us, November and December are quieter. However, we do not notice any significant difference compared to last year. ”
The increase is not necessarily related to the size of a city. Arabella Roelofs of De Kraamspecialist in Amsterdam, for example, is always busy, but she cannot speak of hordes of pregnant women who suddenly register with her.
“We are a small practice and fill up quickly,” says Roelofs, “But it is also not the case that the telephone is now ringing off the hook for obstetric care.”
