Biden mostly to blame for the Democratic Party’s Defeat

Tho she made mistakes Harris isn't really to blame for her party's defeat. Even if another candidate had run instead of her it might have yielded a similar result. To win Biden should have announced he wasn't running in 2023 so his party could have a proper convention to find a suitable replacement.

It was mostly that Biden stayed on way too long while he dragged the Democrats down. His insistence on staying on til the bitter end caused the outcome.

Joseph Biden is like Emperor Franz Joseph from 100 years ago. The Emperor who stayed on too long and brought down the Austrian Empire during World War I

Funny how that works doesn't it? That failures from history seem to reincarnate themselves.

Is this the part where we blame anyone but the poor candidate and her terrible policies?
Yes I have indicated she was partly to blame

But I’m not sure if any candidate could hav saved or resurrected the Democratic Party in that late stage of the game do you?

Biden royally fucked whomever succeeded him

Biden didn't fuck up anything. The guy has been comatose for at least a year now. It was the puppet masters pulling the strings on this one.

The guy's a mumbling vegetable. Don't blame him; blame the people who installed him via a remarkably un-democratic process. They set this causal chain in motion, and the Democrats' defeat is squarely on their shoulders.

Contrary to what the low brow feminist whinners would have imagined, sanctioned child abuse simply could not bring them across the finish line.

Americans proved they are better than murder for the sake of convenience last night.

Go figure

He sure did

I remember Biden stating in 2020 when he was elected that he was an old guy & therefore implied that he was just a 1 term transitional President

But then the bludger did a complete about face later on & decided to run another term

So he didn’t follow the script & what his party thought he would do

Biden acted selfishly & he put a wrench in the plans his party to find a more youthful successor

That is one hell of a desperate attempt to deflect blame.

Biden should have gone in committed to serving one term. He had good policies. People don't want to hear it, they are mired in grievance politics and junkie outrage.

He had 1 year in Congress, more or less, then 36 years in the Senate, then was VP for 8 years and President for 4. That is 49 years among the most prominent political elites. His conceit and unwillingness to give up power certainly played a hand in this election defeat. He was greedy.

The Democratic party could have had two years to have a traditional primary. He certainly holds some responsibility for where the country is, and that goes for RBG as well. She wanted Hillary to win so she could retire and give her seat up for Clinton to get a judge into the Supreme Court.

Many of the silent and boomer generation have been willing to surrender power. This is true on the GOP side as well.

His ego was most definitely a problem.

The spirit of your text seems to indicate you believe that had he committed to a one year term you would have been able to host a primary without all of the fanfare your own side of the aisle brought about with this whole identity politics initiative.

Do you not recall your own party constituents threatening to walk away if he didn't pass the torch to this black woman who isn't really black. Do you honestly believe that would have played out any different had he announced he was abandoning a run any earlier?

Kamala Harris was not a perfect candidate & perhaps the odds were stacked against her winning

But instead of blaming her for their loss she finished somewhat respectably compared to the alternative if Biden had stayed on which would have ended in a complete landslide for Trump

I thought she performed quite courageously considering th circumstances

Harris was a compromise candidate

Yes, I do.
I think that is naive of you.

There is a track record with which the American public tracked Kamala. Namely, her vice presidency, influence on policy and tie breaking vote in the senate over the last four years.

Either you had to run Kamala and end up here or face the backlash of a spoiled constituency, lose their support and end up here. timing had nothing to do with it. Neither did Biden's unwillingness to step down. the decline in quality of life for the average American did.

No, Kamala didn't have to run. The people that support the Dems would have accepted a traditional primary.

You are correct she did not have to run. But if you do recall there was a huge cross section of your voter base that demanded she be allowed to do so. And predictably, the democrats had to cave to the identity politics machine they created and thus, here we are.

The election demonstrated that many Americans were unwilling to overlook her skin color snd gender & ignore that performance

These prejudices are still strong

It’s not just that she black…. It’s mostly because she is a woman.

There are men and in the order of white all the way down the totem pole to black… and then the list of women begin.
