You are the one being disingenuous. Trying to accuse people of insurrection when they were not even armed, ffs. That's not just some silly detail that isnt important. An insurrection is when ARMED people with MILITARY forcibly take over a government.
Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

Please point to the words "armed," "guns," and "military."
Thanks.
Okay Blurt.
So how does that only apply ONE way then? Why wasnt anyone arrested for storming the Capitol during the Kavanaugh hearing or rioting over Trumps inauguration?
How about the bombings of federal buildings?
How about the siege laid on the Portland precinct?
The occupying of Capitol buildings?
No one accused leftists of insurrection
So Blurt why hasnt ANYONE been charged with insurrection? Can you explain that? Why wasnt the insurrection act evoked?
You think perhaps insurrection charges would never stick in a balanced court of law? Yeah?
From the linked article:
Fifty years later, we find the nation assessing the physical and psychic wreckage left by another Capitol attack, this one at the hands of the radical right. It would be wrong to give these events equal weight on the historical scale, to simply regard them as insurrections from opposite ends of the spectrum. Dangerous and criminal as it was, the bombing amounted to a kind of guerrilla theater, a symbolic destruction of federal property to protest the disastrous military intervention in Vietnam. The Jan. 6 mob that ransacked the Capitol, causing five deaths, embodied a far more perilous delusion: that a national election was fraudulent and should be overturned with threats and violence against lawmakers.
The Weather Underground was not a mob bent on fucking the Constitution up the ass, Dovey. When a sitting POTUS encourages a mob to "fight like hell" to dismantle the charter of what he considers a "corrupt country" (think about that for a second), you can't just sit there and nod approvingly while still claiming you're on the side of law and order.
That's just mental.
In all the unlinked, top-o'-the-head "counter-examples" you provide, I've yet to see any instance where anyone is rebelling against the government of the United States of America in the sense defined by USC 2383.
Charges of seditious conspiracy have been laid against some of the organizers of, and participants in, the January 6th insurrection.
More are sure to follow.
Trump better enjoy his next few rounds of golf.
