I wouldnt let my Wife work, when my Son was born. I was against others raising our Son. I've been that daycare kid, and hated it. Daycare is also expensive. And it made no sense to me, to trade off a day of work for very lil in return. I told her she could return to work, when he went to school, and only during school hours. So she returned to her cleaning job, but instead of cleaning houses, she wound up cleaning businesses.

It was also when he started school, that I eventually moved from 2nd shift to 1st shift, and been doing 1st shift since.

Lol, I have an electric drier. Sadly we dont have gas lines here, I would LOVE a gas stove. My Mom's place had gas stove, and it would bake things real good. Even the eyes on top would cook better, because it aint like that stupid electric stove shit where the eye comes on and goes off constantly.

I'll probably go back to work 2 midnight's a week after we settle into the new house. Just to put back into the savings since we are outright buying.

My husband says since it's only for a few years not to worry about it but if I want to I will. We will see. The hospital is offering some decent pay though and I'd do it on weekends. It's easier to flip sleep that way. Definately not sacrificing home life and home schooling for it.

I wouldnt mind an electric dryer.....gas is more efficient and costs less, but I HAVE to have a gas stove lol. I'd run a gas line if I had to.

YOU didnt go to their classes. YOU didnt do their classwork. YOU didnt do their homework. YOU didnt study and pass their tests.

THEY did that. And only those kids should ever get the credit for THEIR hard work

I'm gonna share something that is kinda on topic but more about the detour.

My oldest daughter has always kinda been going on 40. Shes always been responsible and had good sense. She got up to mischief on occasion but over all she was always a really good student.

All I ever had to do was make sure she had clothes, food and shelter and my love and support. And this girl has been on the honor roll EVERY grade. From kinder to senior year.

She (herself) EARNED a few scholarships. One from her volunteer work at the mission (outreach).

I didnt do any of this. SHE did.

She wants to work in the medical field and go for her CRNA. We got her her CNA liscence. She is an ER tech right now. SHE did that.

We have an account for her where we have a car/college money for her. She saved her money and bought her own car. Shes saving her account from us. SHE did that. So far she is rocking her first year in college. Hasnt needed any money outside of her grant's and scholarships. SHE did that.

My 17 year old has all As and a B. Shes doing a study program at home. SHE is getting het excellent scores. She is certified in BLS/CPR/infant CPR and shes a professional babysitter and has a decent saving account. SHE did that.

If I get ANY credit for any of this? It's entirely up to my daughters to give it. THEY get to say "thank you mom, your love and support helped me accomplish these things".

I would NEVER take any credit for things my daughters accomplish. Because I'm not the one doing it. I'm the one in the background giving them guidance and support and food and stuff.

When it comes down to it, it's on the kid to make these decisions and invest that effort. As parents we can instill values and guide and support but its gonna be THEM who apply that or decide to fuck off.

For the kid it is hurtful and belittling to take their accomplishments away from them like that and step in taking credit for it. It makes them feel like absolute shit. That's just narcissistic and self obsession when a parent does that.

For all you know, X? Your kids could have done it despite you. But you did NOT earn that place on the honor roll. Your kids did that and its shameful and selfish of you to speak as if your children arent capable hard workers who did it themselves. That's what they are. Your kids accomplishments are their own....be a decent father and let them have it.
