When denial can no longer hold and idiots finally have to admit to themselves that they’ve been lied to, they search frantically for ways to keep it from disrupting their delusions . So they rationalize. They desperately try to find “good reasons” to justify his lying, just as he always accompanies his lies even when blatantly caught, with “good reasons” for his lies. He tells us he only said/did that because…. MAGA’s tell themselves he only lies because…. They make excuses for him: The lying wasn’t significant/Everybody lies/He’s only human/we have no right to judge him.
A storyteller makes up things to help other people; a liar makes up things to help himself…..the saddest part is this senile orange moron actually believes his own bullshit.
Whenever I ponder the despicable impotence of the congressional Republicans — especially now, as we lurch toward a national crisis long in the making — I am reminded of a famous poem by T. S. Eliot:
We are the hollow men
We are the stuffed men
Leaning together
Headpiece filled with straw …
These are, today’s Republican party, spineless politicians rotten to the core without virtue, without any level of human integrity, devoid of self respect, self reflection…Without courage and without the moral compass to recognize their own malevolence, or the courage to stand up and speak out against our senile dictator.
Instead they bend over and kiss his orange ass like the cowards they are.
