I dunno maybe they were the ex taxi drivers who became Uber drivers.

Perhaps some of them make good money.

But in the process I'm sure they also end up trashing their vehicles within a year or 2 where they pay for the gas, repairs & insurance working 12 hour days or more, 6 or 7 days a week. Plus they make less than what taxi or limo drivers before Uber came along & they probably work twice as much for 1/2 the pay.

Usually the uber drivers are immigrants.
Most often they are East Indian.
I dunno maybe they were the ex taxi drivers who became Uber drivers.

Perhaps some of them make good money.
Upwards of $60-80,000? It may be possible.

But in the process I'm sure they also end up trashing their vehicles within a year or 2 where they pay for the gas, repairs & insurance working 12 hour days or more, 6 or 7 days a week. Plus they make less than what taxi or limo drivers before Uber came along & they probably work twice as much for 1/2 the pay.

It's a case of the driver/worker subsidizing Uber which pays none of the expenses but keeps most of the profits that were the result of the driver's long hours and hard work.

Is that a "No."?

What is funny is that a big reason there are people willing to do these jobs for peanuts is mass immigration. Immigrants will work for peanuts. They will pack 10 adults into a 3 bedroom house and take these shitty jobs. Live off rice and beans and be happy. But there's one thing you don't take into account, Prowler.

Uber & Lyft destroyed the Taxi industry everywhere by breaking the rules & bribing local politicians to bend the rules just for them.

Like how come an Uber driver doesn't have to go thru stringent criminal checks or be forced to pay $200,000 for a plate/medallion like Taxi drivers did?

And how come they didn't have to spend thousands of dollars on driver training or certification programs.

And lastly but most important - how come other ridesharing apps aren't allowed to flood the market to compete with them in equal footing? Uber and Lyft have created a duopoly with unfair shady business practices which do not conform to the laws of the free market. That should be against the law.

If I was an Uber driver, I'd download or create my own personal app out of protest and keep all if the profits myself to get publicity in order to make a social statement.

If the free market truly operates in the ride share market, then there should ideally be 100 s if not 1000s of ride share apps and companies available for the independent driver.

What Uber lyft are engaging in is the equivalent of corporate fascism.

Even if you are a conservative free enterpriser which u appear to be then you'd have to concede that Uber business model is anti competition
