...dudes with long permed hair, high heels, makeup, etc.
Consensus alleges that KISS, Motley Crue, et al. made for a slippery slope to Caitlyn Jenner.
Nahh... that was freedom. The ability or the power to push new expression or takes on what's hot or not.
I never had a problem with heavy metal big hair bands, Prince, or the Petshop Boys. It was all beautiful music and I loved hearing it.
What I've never liked hearing is rampant activism either in the lyrics or in the band's/artist's public profile/s.
I should be able to listen to/appreciate and enjoy any song or actor's portrayal whether we agree on "things" or not. However, I don't care to listen to the theme song of the USSR, Black Panthers, or 1930's/1940's Germany.
That was just a line to far... back then...when I was a young impressionable youth, and I knew it when I saw/heard it.
There is nothing wrong with the artists having opinions, but when they monetize and amplify them (while big brother and corporations prop them up), I'm their huckleberry.
Fuck em...
