Your name is Buck and you came to... annoy Lily?

Nah, it's close but that's not quite right...

Damned you for scuttling my subterfuge.

You're right... I'm not Buck Roger's, I'm Luke Skywalker here to barrel roll Lily the Hutt into a sandy hole with teeth (aka Locustbug's stink ditch).

...and let's not forget Elizabeth Montgomery (see George from Pizza Hut? I do know some names) of Bewitched, my original celebrity crush.

It was a better time for celeb lustings.. they looked pretty fucking good and kept their mouths mostly shut about politics or current events...not to say they didn't have opinions like anyone else on this earth, but they were guarded and didn't use their fames to push objectives.

It's why I mostly listen to and watch older bands and classic movies.

There was a certain respect or fear for not staying in one's lane back then.

Then something happened which broke the performer's camel backs.

A lot of people seem to blame the 1980s glam rockers...
...dudes with long permed hair, high heels, makeup, etc.
Consensus alleges that KISS, Motley Crue, et al. made for a slippery slope to Caitlyn Jenner.

Nahh... that was freedom. The ability or the power to push new expression or takes on what's hot or not.

I never had a problem with heavy metal big hair bands, Prince, or the Petshop Boys. It was all beautiful music and I loved hearing it.

What I've never liked hearing is rampant activism either in the lyrics or in the band's/artist's public profile/s.

I should be able to listen to/appreciate and enjoy any song or actor's portrayal whether we agree on "things" or not. However, I don't care to listen to the theme song of the USSR, Black Panthers, or 1930's/1940's Germany.

That was just a line to far... back then...when I was a young impressionable youth, and I knew it when I saw/heard it.

There is nothing wrong with the artists having opinions, but when they monetize and amplify them (while big brother and corporations prop them up), I'm their huckleberry.

Fuck em...
