What is ironic is the same people that raise this up as being virtuous, also rage against Christianity's place in America and US policies……..celebrating sharia and the Islamic influenced governments cropping up all over the US, and stomping out conservative voices.

Does Israel have a right to defend itself provided it does so in a manner that makes every effort to inflict as little civilian causalities as possible? Shouldn't that be the foundation for the dissuasion?

The civilians are collateral damage. According to polls and public opinion, they all (or most) hate Jews and they all (or most) support Hamas and go so far as to hide them in places that put "innocents" at risk.

I tend to agree. We must first begin at a point where a nation, any nation, has the right to defend itself from attack. How they go about it may be called into question at certain points during the activity but it cannot be said that these people have no right to defend themselves. That is just malarki.

Speaking of the Abraham Accords, apparently the Palestinian's were not that impressed by it.

Palestinian leaders strongly condemned the Abraham Accords.

  • The Palestinian Authority called the UAE-Israel agreement a total betrayal and attacked the UAE[21].
  • Hamas reacted as expected, saying the agreement “served the Zionist narrative” and that Arab states should continue to engage in anti-normalization[22].
  • These statements led to backlash in the Arab world, including a lengthy interview by former Saudi Ambassador to the U.S., Prince Bandar bin Sultan, levelling unprecedent and harsh public criticism of against the Palestinian leadership[23].
  • According to a poll by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research, 80 percent of Palestinians “describe their feelings towards [the Abraham Accords] as: treason, abandonment, and insult.” [24]
  • Dennis Ross, a former Middle East peace envoy for the U.S., wrote that the UAE’s move “should also signal to Palestinians that others are not going to wait for them” to make peace with Israel[25].
