John Coltrane and Miles Davis ... FTW..That scene reminds me of the time I was in a Tower Records during my Jazz snob phase...I'm going through the stacks of LP,s looking for the rare Miles Davis or Thelonious Monk or see if Weather Report has anything new...after a few minutes this large nice looking black man appears(a not common occurrence in these parts) and he enters the small Jazz section near me, and as I browse I'm becoming curious what Jazz artists this prosperous appearing black man is into....his gf strolls over and he excitedly tells her they have the new Kenny G album!!!
TLDR, to a "Real Jazz" fan that's like a Heavy Metal guy hearing someone excited for Taylor Swift etc
I worked on updating my Dad's vinyl jazz to digital.. Bitches Brew, Kind Of Blue ...etc.. to me it was just expanding my cd search in the second hand shops as I spent alot of time searching for rarities..
