Happiness is something that I'm not able to enjoy, since my brain is wired to not stop when things aren't right. For instance, I have a bald patch on my lawn, and it bothers me. I will do what is necessary to correct it, but it makes me unhappy until it is fixed.

The only happy time I have ever experienced was with my ex wife, when we were briefly married... Most of the time it was nice having her around, but more importantly I felt comfortable being myself around her. I would've done almost anything for her.

Women are women though, and she decided she didn't like me anymore and left. No biggie! I focus on myself now, and my home! I keep busy...

if only this that would last more than it usually does... puts me in a very happy place.

I think people need to have a realization that happiness is more about being content with they life they make for themselves. Now, if they haven't made the life they wanted, then they either make it happen or resign themselves and at least accept the choices they've made.

We're not supposed to be deliriously happy, much less euphoric. Those are for special events in our lives, marriage, graduations, children's births...etc.

Life is too hard to be expecting fairytale happiness.
