You leave em overnight and they empty their filtration system or stomach equivalent.
I only get shellfish from southern coastal areas of Australia or New Zealand these days after the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant tsunami and continued leakage (intentional later releases). I stopped eating blue fin tuna shortly after 2011 also.
Pretty soon, I'll completely cut off any seafood that isn't farmed within protective barriers or cut off from tidal flows.
Indonesian exports are being accused of radioactive contamination (they say it's because of refuse/landfills filled with Western contamination), but that's just subterfuge. Follow the ocean currents....
And the bitch of the matter is that seafood is my absolute favourite food next to beef steaks (or combined in a meal).
I still remember watching an episode of V in my earlier years where a granny walks into a shop and asks for a can of tuna but the shopkeeper had to sadly inform her that the tuna are gone since the Visitors have come (then quietly slips her a small tin).
It was a poignant moment for me but with no reason behind it. I simply shouldn't have remembered that bit of fiction.
But, after 2011 happened, then the blue-fin tuna fishing bans, (and where blue fin tuna go to breed), and then the increased allowable exposures on land for people in Japan, and silence on yellow-fin... I don't want a bar of any of it... at least for my kids.
Almost every week there's a news report about contaminated seafood being recalled from certain suppliers. Read between the lines.... especially if you're on the Pacific coasts.
And they're not trying to hide it... just couch it in meaningless crap speak.
It only takes a couple pounds of enriched weapons grade plutonium distributed around the world to kill virtually every living thing on this planet (with no winds, tides, atmosphere).
They just found a way to do it slow creep style...
