Why do Canadians have such bad tastes in ice cream?

I didnt know it was also in Cleveland ....but I grew up on this :D

We still get it.

I've got a pic of #3 when he was about 3yo eating a cone of that stuff. He's pretty much Dennis The Menace and he had that shit everywhere! It was hilarious! We got it at the Kooky Coconut at Indian Rocks Beach Fla.

There's nothing much cuter than a kid having cake and/or iced cream. My mom watches my 2 yr old niece sometimes and says the baby heads straight to the fridge and looks up at grandma and says "cake" or "ice". First thing in the morning - it doesn't matter to her.

called head cheese

I live in a city that has a strong German history. Head cheese was one of the most common cold cuts I had as a kid. Just about every Saturday my mom would go to a German deli and get cold cuts, including head cheese.

It is quite good. I actually will take it and put it in a frying pan and heat it. It breaks up and turns into a sloppy mess. But take that and spread it on a slice of toast with a little mustard and it is delicious! Heating it makes it a much stronger flavour. Most people eat it cold...I am actually the only one I know who heats it.

Eeeewwww so it's good?

I never could bring myself to eat it. Anything involving "meat jelly" just really grosses me out lol. I cant do spam either. Just the smell gags me lol
YEah, Spam is a big letdown, there's no way you prepare that stuff and it ends up tasting good

We bought some for our camping trip last summer deep in the Sierra Nevadas. We had limited access to ice. It was terrible.
I'm going to invest in one of those fancy smancy coolers for our next adventure.
I think that's the only situation where Spam would be a good option, but I think I'd rather take other forms of canned protein with me, like sardines. Or maybe even beef jerky. Heck, even those cocktail sausages are tastier than Spam LOL

Yeah, we're not doing Spam again. We had some beef jerky, even this one pork jerky seasoned with a Korean marinade.

These little fruit are called jabuticaba, a delicacy that can be found pretty much only here in Brazil, maybe a few neighboring countries, but as far as I know, the only ones living elsewhere are the ones that my aunt brought with her and live in Florida.

Anyway, they are delicious, everybody loves them. And the bugs happen to love them too. So the only way to enjoy them is being ok with the fact that a few can have bugs in them. They're not supposed to "leak", so all you do is squeeze them a little with your fingers and see if the juice comes out from the little holes the wasps makes to lay their eggs.

But that's not 100% safe if you know what I mean

And since they have the same color as the fruit and are tiny, they're almost impossible to find

Freeze dried is a much better option than canned for back packing simply from a weight carrying perspective but also from a trash prospective. Back in the 1990's and early 2000's we used buy the brand "Backpacker's Pantry" from REI and all of their meals were pretty good if a bit salty. All you had to do was add hot water.
