So now we need to compare the people who were sold as slaves in Africa to those who were sold as slaves in America.

Because once they were captured, they were either going to be sold as slaves, or killed.

So if the slaves in America were treated better and their ancestors were given better opportunities than the slaves in Africa, then we have to conclude that being sold as slave in America benefited those slaves.

You always have to look at the alternative when talking about whether or not something was beneficial.

They all came from the North and worked their way south. If you're not aware, many North American tribes from the Southwest speak Uto-Aztecan languages, like many indigenous people in Mexico.
