What gets me are the Virtue Signalling douchebags who pretend to care about the unemployed, yet continue to work well past a normal retirement age.

People like @Jack and Senile @Joe .

Get the fuck out of the workforce, you selfish pricks!!!
I knew one optometrist who worked to about a 100. And he was still going when I read about it. I sort of admired his work ethic while think he was one crazy fucker who actually enjoyed flipping lenses and selling eyeglasses all day long rather than enjoying retirement.

Now I see him as a 100 year old job stealer.

...and yet why doesn't your Hero Donald Trump step down immediately from the presidency, Lex @The Prowler?

After all he's 80 and way over the official retirement age in the United States.

Even your MAGA brethenn have suggested Trump to do that given his age and failing mental faculties

Here watch, Prowler:

So don't you think your hero Trump is being selfish, and that he ought to step aside for someone younger like Marco Rubio or JD Vance, Prowler?

I'll take this one if you don't mind.

Because people don't HAVE to retire when they reach "official retirement age" whatever that may be. It's optional.

Some people- not me- want to work as long as they possibly can. Especially if they really really like their job.

No doubt Trump likes his job and all the power and control that goes with it.

I'm not suggesting that you have contradicted yourself, but @The Prowler certainly has.

Whether or not the questionable statement that they retired in order to free up a couple of jobs for the unemployed is to be believed is a different matter entirely.
@The Prowler doesn't care about freeing up jobs for younger workers. He just says that to look down & sneer at others, especially the poor. @The Prowler is a classic Poor Basher who has often mentioned his admiration of genoicidal social policies. He advocates culling of the excess population. The kind that exterminated Jews & undesirables during World War II @wizer .

I'm aware. I don't mean to sound cruel but I'm not concerned about them,
It's not whether you pity them or not @wizer. But I don't think most people have that much in savings or saved up for retirement. Im just saying I think that is reality. Separate fact from fiction.

All those financial ads say people need $2,000,000 or more in savings to retire. Perhaps you are one of them but if that be the case I bet that's less than 1% of the population.

I thought you said once that I was not a 1%er.

Anyways, Senile @Joe, you should have saved for retirement.

It does not matter what other people did.

This is your problem. You were too busy playing "Keep up with the Joneses" and not thinking ahead.

Now you are taking the job of a young person.

Your selfish mistakes are hurting future generations.

You are delusional, Senile @Joe .
You've often criticized and attacked older workers, but then ask yourself why Donald Trump is still working Lex @The Prowler?

Trump is 80 and way over the standard retirement age Prowler.

Shouldn't he step down for the Greater Good and give his job to someone like JD Vance or Marco Rubio?

Much younger men who by your logic...could use the job.

...this logic might hold true if this 100 year old is working for a corporation, hospital or employed by somebody else.

However....if he is self-employed, paying his own bills, expenses, taxes, storefront, he is not a burden to anyone @wizer.

Who's job is he stealing? His own? Likewise, if an 80 something Paul McCartney or Mick Jagger are still performing whose jobs are they stealing? If anything they are more likely creating jobs, especially for the youth who really need them. And they pay a lot of taxes generate revenues for thousands perhaps milions of people.

so this is a logical fallacy perpetuated by @The Prowler.

Because @The Prowler doesn't like others one upping, leapfrogging him.

The Prowler claims to be 'happily retired' but then spends his time like any old fart running down others because he is still keeping up with the Joneses has nothing else better to do with his time.

@The Prowler is someone who could benefit by getting a job at his local McDonald's to get out and socialize more.

He'd fit right in.

I hear Kitchner Waterloo is hiring.

It'd be good for his soul and his brain, quite frankly @wizer

Bullshit.

Every service he provides could be done by a younger person who needs the work.

Although in my profession the only unemployed are those that don't want to work or are disabled. And that probably holds true for other high demand workers.
