I knew one optometrist who worked to about a 100. And he was still going when I read about it. I sort of admired his work ethic while think he was one crazy fucker who actually enjoyed flipping lenses and selling eyeglasses all day long rather than enjoying retirement.
Now I see him as a 100 year old job stealer.
...this logic might hold true if this 100 year old is working for a corporation, hospital or employed by somebody else.
However....if he is self-employed, paying his own bills, expenses, taxes, storefront, he is not a burden to anyone
@wizer.
Who's job is he stealing? His own? Likewise, if an 80 something Paul McCartney or Mick Jagger are still performing whose jobs are they stealing? If anything they are more likely creating jobs, especially for the youth who really need them. And they pay a lot of taxes generate revenues for thousands perhaps milions of people.
so this is a logical fallacy perpetuated by
@The Prowler.
Because
@The Prowler doesn't like others one upping, leapfrogging him.
The Prowler claims to be 'happily retired' but then spends his time like any old fart running down others because he is still keeping up with the Joneses has nothing else better to do with his time.
@The Prowler is someone who could benefit by getting a job at his local McDonald's to get out and socialize more.
He'd fit right in.
I hear Kitchner Waterloo is hiring.
It'd be good for his soul and his brain, quite frankly
