What's the last thing you purchased?

Are you crazy?!?!!?
its
Or just really bad at math?
Well then what is the answer Prowler?

im just repeating information from google YouTube & reddit.

If you know a way to store more data at its highest resolutions by all means let me know lex @The Prowler

I noticed my camera make lists several output options. So if there were a way to double the size limit with comparable quality Id be delighted.

Same time Ive accepted that video, animation & vfx are some of the biggest storage or memory hogs in computing which generally require the fastest PCs or devices to read & process them.

Graphics eat up a lot of computing memory & power. Add motion and that's several x (times). Hence just a few minutes to an hour of high quality output on most data cards.

Well if that's any indication then what I paid for it on sale was last year's prices eh?

2TB still doesn't store that much @Frood

An hour of uncompressed video at most?

A 256mb card maybe 8 minutes of raw video.

Ya don't get much memory fer the money these days
I bought another of my preferred USB keys maybe 8 months ago off Amazon. It was approximately 67 dollars AU for 512gb..... a SanDisk Ultra Luxe 3.1 (metal body)

It's now 145.00 AUD and the price was already inflated long before the Iran standoff.

Thing is the prices might come crashing down if the AI bubble bursts or slows @Frood

The most recent example was the crypto mining craze. the last time crypto crashed graphics cards fell 50% or more in price.

I suspect the same thing will repeat itself when the AI bubble pops which many predicted

Most of it will crash with thermonuclear detonations...

Well im not that melodramatic @Frood . but you never know.

But im more inclined to think the AI bubble will come crashing down when one or several of the companies can't pay back their investors or lenders. These companies are already leveraged to the hilt with little hope of generating sufficient revenues to pay the loans back.

I suspect therell be a black swan event and they'll choose a sacrificial lamb or 2 for that event. maybe Palantir? Or an equally shady business nobody likes or knows what they actually do. Just like Bear Stearns went belly up during the GFC. and of course the investors never got their money back.

You just have to follow the money or read the bslance sheets. likewise on 911 one of those corporations billions in debt got their debts wiped out when the towers fell cuz the financial records got destroyed. same thing happened during covid when many banks were in trouble.

These black swan events happen for a reason.

They want most of us dead, mate. They've said it for decades. We're all mostly useless feeders in their eyes. We're being plunged into an apocalyptic future and the result for the 4-6 percent left is a feudalism based system which would make the Dark Ages look like a cake walk.

Let's end this discussion here, because it's not a debate. We will be reinserted into another stone age very soon. Fact.

Well then what is the answer Prowler?

Do you always give up so easily, Joe?

Can you not figure out things on your own?

How about we start with the basics?

Well here's a source which says its even less than that :

Recording Time by Card Capacity (Approximate 8K/5.7K RAW)
    • 256GB Card: ~5 to 6 minutes
    • 512GB Card: ~10 to 12 minutes
    • 1TB Card: ~22 to 25 minutes
    • 2TB Card: ~45 to 50 minutes [

      ]

How much bigger is 1TB than 256mb?

Is it about 4000 times bigger? Is it, Joe?!?!?

So if 1TB can hold 25 minutes...which is 1500 seconds....then 256mb should be able to hold....

1500/4000 = 0.375 seconds of video

It will actually be less because there will be some file information in each file that will be the same size regardless of how much actual video footage is in the file...so the percentage of that "wasted space" will be more for shorter recordings.

But I have to ask you, Joe, how the heck did you come up with your answer?!?!?

5-7 minutes of RAW uncompressed video therabouts for a 256 mb card. maybe 8 minutes max?

Shit Joe, you were way off.

Hey Joe...I know this thread is for "the last thing you purchased"....but I would like to make a suggestion for "the next thing you should purchase"....

Gas at Sam's Club. I had to wait ten minutes to get up to the pump. $4.13/gallon. Before that, I was at Walmart. Three metal folding chairs, Q-tips, Goo Gone, putty knife/scraper, twine, vinyl disposable gloves, 3-in-1 Oil ... fuck, I scanned the Q-tips twice. I ain't gonna fight over $3.82. And: Can I get a 6 foot ladder in my 5 foot bed? Fuck Yeah. Fit it in there diagonal-like.

Ordered more patches and found bullet spikes on Alibaba for .35 each instead of 10 sets for $9. Bought 100 more to add to the ridiculously priced 20 that I got from Amazon.

Hahaha!!!

Like I need to Google it!!!

I find it funny because you and Joe are so lame with your talk about precious metals. You two make me laugh.
Gold and Silver are tradionally not bought or sold in pounds Lex @The Prowler

The modern weight unit measurement is kilos not pounds. Did you know that?

An ounce of Gold is 31.15 grams which us called a Troy Ounce.

An ounce using imperial measurements is 28.3 grams which is lighter than a troy ounce. Gold is not sold by that standard tho.

Do you understand the difference?

Anyway you're welcome for the explanation.

Payment in Gold measured in troy ounces is accepted for this detailed tutorial which you badly needed Prowler.

Either you're fucking stupid or else you're trying to lay one of your silly traps.

Now grow the fuck up

I make fun of you about this because the first time I asked you, you were online posting quickly (for you) and I knew you would have to research it. Which is why you refused to answer.

It is funny to me that someone who pretends to know a lot about precious metals did not already know what you had to research.

And was it a trap!?!?!?

Of course
it was a trap!!!

Hahaha!!!
