I didn't know Brent very well; not on a personal level.
From what I remember of his forum persona though it never crossed my mind that Alticus could be him.

Brent would have come in with guns a'blazin' like a human frag grenade spewing shrapnel (a lot of it from self-inflicted wounds caused by indiscriminately shooting his own kneecaps). A style like that is almost impossible to alter or even just hide for this long.

Personally I don't think it even matters.
