..Tobacco smoking is often a socio-economic phenomenon associated directly with poverty or lower economic class and also, either by direct association or as a cause, low intellect - although I have know very intelligent tobacco addicts, and I myself smoked for many years. It's a very difficult addiction to get away from, and the lies one can tell oneself as an addict are endless.

Really, there is no good reason to start smoking. I tried it as a teen, several times. It was awful each time.
Interestingly, in my professional experience, most smokers knew they were pretty powerless to stop. Not that they couldn't, but that the cost of stopping was fairly steep for them in the short-term.

I don't like smoking because it kills people. Period.
It's not my fault that you feel personally slighted. I have felt that way about smoking for ages. My opinion about smoking has nothing to do with you or anyone in particular at all.
My own son smoked for a couple of years. He knew how I felt about smoking. I expressed my opinion and he acknowledged it.
I didn't "forbid" him. I didn't "punish" him. I simply expressed my thoughts about it.
He quit on his own. I had nothing to do with it, I had no influence. People are free to do what they want with their own bodies.
I simply call smoking what it is, a habit that causes cancer (of many types), heart disease, emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and more.
And that is my beef with smoking.

The way they smoke weed oil in what they call "carts" is fascinating as well. My daughter has a weed pen and these carts(she's an adult and has a weed card...for those of you who think my daughters are still little girls) I remember being in high school in the 90s and weed was illegal so if you wanted it, you had to know a guy. Or get down to Detroit.
Now you can just order it from the dispensary and they'll deliver it right to your house. Edibles. Gummies. Pre rolled joints. There are endless ways to consume the weed now.

There was always a huge party on the Campus of U of M in Ann Arbor every year called Hash Bash. Its been going on for decades. My daughters both went this year....begged me to go with them. I have a hard time with crowds so I sat it out. They had a blast though. They sent us pictures all day and brought us souvenirs lol.

I started smoking when I was 14 years old and yes I did it because my grandma, mom, and most of my friends smoked and wanted to feel all sophisticated.
I hate smoking. I quite years ago. So did my man....him and I used to sit out on his back porch drinking beer and just sucking down cigarettes.
He quit because it was turning his blood into jelly. His red blood cells were becoming so thick he had to take several trips to the doctor to literally get bled out.
He just gave up cigars because his blood work was getting icky. He never inhaled them...but they still were causing him issues.

Type O is the most common type, often referred to as the universal donor since there are no complications in transfusing persons of other types....though I hear MAGAs are skeptical.
