Tommy, dont get a thick cut, just 3/4". Get ya some high heat on your grill, let it cook a couple minute each side, and BAM!
 
If you touch your steak, you can tell the doneness by how soft it is vs how tough it is.
 
Touch your pointy finger to your thumb, and feel the spot below your thumb on your hand, that is closer to rare
 
Touch your pinky to your thumb, thats how the steak feels when its done (over cooked IMO lol)
