I am selling all my gold and will buy again when it hits $5000.
all my Canadian oil stocks went down again today Lex @The Prowler

But my Gold stocks keep goin' up Prowler.

That's the only reason my account remains in the Black.

I'm tempted ta sell my Canadian Natural Resources stock, Lex.

The analysts told me it was supposed ta be a good buy, Lex.

tourmaline oil and Peyto exploration, there's also down too.

Well Lex @The Prowler I think I'm gonna dump 90% of my gas and oil stocks soon. move the proceeds from those sales into gold stocks instead

Gold is on a run but oil and gas appear to be in a slump perhaps reflecting the slow or slowing economy.

Gotta cut the 3rd stringers from the lineup in favor of the A list performers Lex.

No room fer slackers in my portfolio , that's fer sure!

There is always a sell off late in the year.

I am selling everything until 2rd quarter results start rolling in.

Then I will only buy back in if the stock prices go up.
So Lex @The Prowler, I just sold 90% of my gas/oil natural resource stocks today
In an Instant.
They were going down, so I thought it's time ta cut my losses in that dept.

Still up in Gold however.

Probably gonna buy s'more Gold Stocks today.

Seems Gold is one of the few bright spots keepin' the TSX afloat these days, Prowler.

I've decided to play the market by keeping just 10% in stocks except for GOLD, which I'm gradually increasing my positions.

See if this strategy/portfolio mix works better.

Letcha know.

Well Lex @The Prowler, I got ridda CNQ or Canadian Natural Resources.

Bought some gold stocks instead & immediately the value of the portfolio went up!

Funny how that works, eh?

Gold seems to be the best trade right now.

At least for the time being. However, I'm not sure how that'll last.

Some think that Gold and Gold stocks may have peaked:

Not saying the Guy is Right or Wrong, but others have echoed the same warning. We'll see.

But Oil appears to be down, according to all the MSM reports:

And Oil stocks appear to be stagnant, not goin' anywhere atm.

CNQ pays a dividend of over 5.5% and has very strong fundamentals.

I would have sold that loser too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I may be interested in buying back into CNQ if it dips just a little bit more.

Oil seems to be in a bit of slump while Gold is surging in price, eh?

I got rid of CNQ cuz I wanted to buy more gold stocks, which are going up right now.

A bit a Gold, A bit of Oil is good to have in the portfolio Lex @The Prowler.

I'm sure in the long run Oil is good, but for the short term maybe not right now.

I'm still 10% in on oil/gas right now, just not CNQ atm

I am waiting until it goes way up before I buy.
Gold's Up, Oil's down Lex @The Prowler.

But...who knows what tomorrow will bring?

I decided to buy a bit of gold stocks in each of my trading accounts, just to give them some possible extra growth.

Maybe 10-20% portion invested or allocated to gold stocks at a minimum?

However...I'm looking for more defensive stocks too.

Fortis? Canadian Utilities? Loblaws? Dollarma? CN? CP Rail - even the Americans like Bill Gates buy that stock.

All the stuff people still need during a recession, eh.

Me thinks we're headed for tough economic times, Lex.

Best to buy some stocks which might hold their value but still pay dividends, eh

Oh, and the companies have been around a long time, are safe bets and won't go bankrupt.

Gold is up?

Maybe I will buy some.

Gotta sell some stuff that is down first, though.
But Keep in Mind, Gold is Tricky Lex @The Prowler.

It can go down as fast as it went up. Silver too

Gotta get in at the right time and know when ta cash out

So be cautious. You can invest a bit, but not too much at once, eh?

Somehow I don't think Gold or silver is a long term Buy and Hold stock.

I think there'll be a day of reckoning for those who invest too much too late

I bet Energy Stocks, like Natural Gas, Oil and pipelines are better for long term investing.

At some point I"ll buy back into Canadian natural Resources stock.

that being said, I've bought Copper, Gold & Silver stocks lately.

Next I'll add Critical or Rare Earth minerals to the mix.

I think Copper has more stability for long term investing prospects than Gold.

I buy it, but same time leery about Gold, if that makes any sense.
