As our last decent president, John F Kennedy said - no one is prepared to be president.

Children born to citizen parents abroad are indeed granted citizenship albeit with a little ex'ra paperwork, and this establishes the fact that the US is a Jus Sanguinis nation - as does and unbiased reading of the 14th, and certainly the words of the framers and author of said amendment to the US Constitution.
