I just fear experiencing 'pain' more than anything else!
which 'pain'/ physical or psych - burn alive or wake up in your own coffin screaming, pain?

This is what I think about when I'm debating cremation or burial.

What if I'm not actually dead? Ever think about that?

Embalming would definitely kill you. Those hedge clipper things they use to cut your chest open really freak me out lol.

Being swept or sucked into an underground flow of water - horrifying.
or, being crushed by a steamroller
or, falling from a cliff top onto jagged rocks
or, forced to read Duhv's posts and being bored to death.

I definitely want a grave bell and an air hole just in case lol.

Seriously one of my biggest fears is being one of those poor motherfuckers that everyone thinks is dead but isnt, and getting cremated, or buried or embalmed while alive.

One of my other biggest fears is having a hidden snake or rat attack my vagina while I'm sitting on the toilet.

.If you are embalmed, and you will be, you won't be waking up.,
.
Some were also buried with poisons to take.
There was, for some reason a higher incidence in the Victorian era
Many thought to be dead would then wake from the cataleptic state.
. Not so much today.

this is probably a myth but the scariest thing i ever heard was that they can detect brain waves for 7 days after death

imagine being conscious for those days o_0

Yeah I'm gonna say that's a myth....but I'm not sure lol

Yanno even if that could be true, doesn't necessarily mean you will be conscious.

People get really freaky about organ donation when they realize your body will be technically alive when the organs are harvested. You'll be braindead when it happens though. Braindead is death....even if the body is still stimulated by machines acting as the "brain"

I won't be embalmed. Either cremated or body donated to science, if we can get that done here.

Now - there are indeed cases of modern Catalepsy in which those presumed dead
and being prepared for embalmment suddenly revive.
Who knows how many more, unrecorded, there may be when the sufferer did not revive in time.
...and are they unaware of the proceedings?
What if they are fully aware of the embalmers practice
having their life blood drawn away and wishing to move or scream out can not.

.My favorite author as a lad of early and mid teens
wrote a nice story about being buried alive
Incidentally, Jeannie, it is with Catalepsy you find the origins of the Graveyard Shift
. as there where those who overnight listened for the tinkling of the bell.

There was actually a guy in LA about 10 years ago. They found him tagged, in the morgue, but still alive. There was lots of rationalizing in the LA Times about how that could happen.
