it's been a bit weathery of late.
--Take today for example.

But I'm all ready for tomorrow on the big res.
..Got the spinnerbaits
got the tubes lures and swim-baits.
-Got the Neds and Smallie Beavers (smallie beavers - yeah. Go ahead. You know you want to.)

-Got the Bitzy Jigs and Uncle Josh Pork Spin Frogs (Yup - I still have some)

Got the rain suit.
..Got gasoline in the tank.

Well - looks like my fishing plans got shut down today. Been waiting for the mechanic to call and tell me my car is ready - Calling, no answer. WTF?

Anyway - yesterday was okay. 6 Smallies - one easily my best of the year. No lost fish, no lost lures.
One lost pair of sunglasses. How the hell do you lose your sunglasses I'd like to know. They had a scratch on the lens anyway.

I'll get back up next week maybe for an overnight.

^^^ No bass up here cause we are to far north but I did catch some in Ontario many many years ago. We were fishing in Lake St. Clair and caught both Smallmouth and some Largemouth bass. I think the smallmouth put up a better fight and they were a lot of fun to catch.:rightON:

I don't know that there is a harder fighting or more acrobatic fish than Smallmouth, though I was raised on Largemouth, which I still think of as the king of gamefish. Opinions, I am sure, vary though.

Got out fairly early this morning,
headed up to the big res again.
.. Kind of overcast with some rain expected.
Didn't say nothin about it since you were all sleeping
didn't want to wake you.

Good day from the start, with 2 Smallies in the first 15 minutes or so.
Third took a while to get, but again I have a new best of the year - 3 lb 13 oz
That's what the scale said but I'd swear it was heavier.

Had 9 total with a 10th within 2 feet of landed when it shook the hook on a jump.
Probably be back up Wednesday. All catches on 1/2 oz white single colorado spinnerbait.

Hot lure there in Fall.

I love to catch catfish. My favorite fish to eat....flounder and salmon coming in second. Any of you ever go fly fishing? I've tried but I am NOT good at it. I am patient when it comes to fishing (of course that comes with the sport) but fly fishing to me is difficult.

It's not hard,you just need a few pointers ! Find a fly shop near you that give's lessons and to bad you are not by me in the heart of some of the best fishing in Calif. and in fact had a place on Hat Creek with 180 feet of water front. Buney Falls was 11 mile's from me >>>

Picked up 5 on the river today - the beautiful Lenapehanna
.where eagles fly and big Hickories get blowed down onto favorite fishing spots.

Just amazing - able to wet wade to the knee on October 20.

--and let no one say goose poop isn't slippery as shit

...since after all
it is shit.

Rising wind indeed.
.. I knew the wind would be up
Weather service said 10+
. I thought that might work to advantage
since Bass will often forage on windswept shores
..Only picked up two on the shore I fish most frequently on the big res.
Nothing on the point that has been hot.
Wind really howling (like a werewolf)
Water muddy'd.
Fished the line for those two.
So
I got on the lee side of the next point
found a nice spot at the woodline to relieve myself
.. and - then able to focus on the fishing, picked up another six.
Lost one in the worst way when the spinnerbait wire snapped on a solid 3 lber.
..Took some pics, but
I've noticed you people have not been good so
have yet to decide on showing them.

October spinnerbait fishing has always been a favorite of mine.
Beautiful scenery
Big fish and plenty of.

Left early due to my wrist and fingers taking such a pounding from the big blade churning.

Probably only 2 more weekends left to fish.

WoW !

.. This was my best fictitious birthday fishing ever.
Indeed I did return to the lee side of that windswept point and extended to the shore beyond the next point.
.. What a miserable weather day. Reached 50 I think. Rain showers, high winds, no cloud breaks.
.Great day to stay home an make soup.
Donned my thermals, rain suit, Mishmi Takins (unbelievable traction on the wet scree)
.Wore my Frog-Togg gloves,
.and then
proceeded to catch 23 Smallies - topped out at 3lb 3oz
..Some real nice ones and a few dinks for sure.

. Missed only one that was hooked up - inches from shore.
.Lost 2 spinnerbait blades - one I am sure to a fish what grabbed it instead of the skirt
.and another possibly to a rock, or a fish.

My best day so far on the big res.

PS: I will answer questions and fill in details tomorrow if you like.
