that if former President Donald Trump won the 2024 election, the NATO alliance would be significantly damaged. Romney, the 2012 GOP presidential nominee, said NATO members would wonder whether they could continue to count on the United States.

“If he were to come back as the U.S. president, I think it would represent a pretty dramatic departure for the world, and they would rethink whether they can count on the United States to lead NATO to lead other nations as they push back against China and against Russia,” Romney said

in early March. “And I think [Russian President Vladimir] Putin was waiting for that.”

Trump’s critics often argue that Putin’s top strategic priority was to weaken the NATO alliance, and Trump was seen as an ally in attaining that goal.

As Putin massed troops along Ukraine's borders with Russia and Belarus earlier this year and summarily declared two eastern regions of Ukraine as independent states, Trump lavished praise on Putin.

That's pretty much how most clear eyed adults read it. IMO.

eta, and I would add, there is probably a healthy contingent of the GOP, that knows better, but is terrified of being primaried by the zombie apocalypse.

Propaganda can cover facts. Clearly you dont understand what propaganda IS.

This piece is very slanted covering facts with the bent that anyone who thinks that NATO is bad for countries at this point is clearly bad and it's a bad thing. And you should think of people with that position as bad.

Youd have to be objective to see that. You are not objective.

What exactly is wrong with not wanting America to be paying and beholden to NATO? Clearly you have strong feelings about NATO and how we should be part of it. But WHY? When we can simply lend our aid to endeavors NATO goes on that we the people agree with?

NATO may have been good when it started but today it's just another corporate entity that is concerned with it's own benefit.

You shouldnt have powerful pro NATO feels. You should be able to view both sides of this argument rationally. You need to start asking yourself why you are unable to do that......because one of the biggest symptoms of a demoralized/propagandized person is that they have very strong feels, extreme responses, and an inability to form a coherent argument for what they have these strong feels for.

Js. You guys act like everyone who doesnt just love them some NATO and who doesnt want the country to be paying them and have to answer to them is an enemy....and that's not rational. Be an American who is more invested in America instead of hating on people who dont find NATO worthy of this loyalty you have towards them.

Corporate media is gonna report things they can guide your thoughts on, and this article is guiding you to think "NATO good...Trump ruin NATO....Trump bad!". It didnt go into why Trump doesnt prioritize NATO, does it? No. It doesnt report that side of this issue at all. A corporate entity meatsheild another corporate entity. How do you NOT see that? This article doesnt tell you objectively WHY others are not pro NATO. It just leads you to FEEL that's all bad. You should be pro NATO.....or you are pro putin. That's how its reporting it.

And you fall for it hard, H. To the point where you often call people "putanist" and you are equating Trump and putin.....just like the corporate media intends.

Just because they use facts in their favor doesnt mean it's not propaganda. They will use facts and bend the tone to guide how you feel about them. They will distort the truth to bend issues to their favor and the favor of whoever they are propping up, and they will also flat out lie when nessesary.

The way you guys think that it's so either/or all the time is amazing. You dont understand propaganda and how it's used. You think that unless they lie all the time, they never lie. You guys just have no clue the layers and levels of manipulation used.
