This isn't the first time the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) have tried to hijack support for LGBT rights into a recruitment tool for their fringe political party. As a gay person with a lot of trans friends, I think it's offensive and harmful - their "support" is never anything actually helpful (all this event does is elevate the profile of a far right protest), and they sure don't mind causing us collateral damage.
There's a reason why this is something as visual as a dance party at specifically a family gym in the most MAGA area of San Diego, sponsored by a fringe Socialist group that hides in acronyms and small font and the guise of being a general LGBTQ+ rights event, to support a policy they never bother to specify. That last part is important - I have no idea if this is a well-thought-out policy or an easily-abused policy that deserves protest, all I have is "other side=bigots, just trust me bro" from an organization with a history of being deliberately misleading in order to trick people into supporting them.
It's not about LGBTQ+ rights at all - it's about using our topicality for attention, making people angry, polarizing everyone into either 'socialist' or 'proud boy', generating a spectacle and trying to invite a conflict or publicfreakout that goes viral.

There used to be a group called "Defend East County San Diego" and the guy who ran it was a bit of a MAGA nutjob. That said, they were non-violent and mostly just held peaceful rallies which Antifa would try to attack. Antifa's other tactic was to dress up like white supremacists with Nasi flags and pretend they were associated with the MAGA crowd.

Sadly, that tactic of agent provocateurs worked and they got all the local media against DEC and even got them banned off all social media. That is how Antifa and leftists lie, smear, and deperson anyone who opposes their evil
