If a tsunami wave develops it’s expected to reach my area on the central coast, close to midnight. I’m semi vulnerable I am just above the nearby tsunami zone, I’m about 60 ft. above sea level and as the sea gull flies 150 yds. from the mean tide line

They’re much closer to the quake, I’ll monitor the situation, if they issue an alert to GTFO, this is two lane hwy country and its tourist season camp grounds, motels, str’s it could be gridlock, local senior weather guy isn’t in a panic yet.

Not a damn thing can be done to stop it either. A very humbling occurrence indeed. Gives you an idea of just how little we really are on this planet.

This is why I wonder occasionally if I should have a NOAA Alert Radio, but since the current Administration has decimated NOAA, who knows if those still work.

Why has a watch been issued: At 425 PM Pacific Daylight Time on July 29 an earthquake with preliminary magnitude 8.7 occurred 80 miles southeast of Petropavlovsk Kamchatka.
