I remember when men were stoic, strong, and had higher expectations of themselves.
Why is this happening and what can be done, if anything?
The truth be known, all the 'Real Men' are disengaging from todays society, droppin' out & doin' our own thing.
Sorry but you Ladies became too demanding & asked too much from us, Lily.
So we figured out if it's the End of Days, may as well enjoy what we can with the time we have left. No time for you Ladies anymore.
We' be retreated into our hobbies & other pursuits instead.
I suppose it's a bit like the monks who retreated into the monestaries during the European Dark Ages, eh? Except now the illumination of manuscripts hath been replaced with the XBox & gaming.
Self indulgent hedonism has replaced family values I guess.
Don't forget nuns running from men and yearly life threatening pregancies.... that is why convents were so full.
From you Ladies...it seems to always be the Man's Fault.
Victim Blaming. You and your sisters are always the victims, always right and the man is always the bad one and always wrong.
Here's one persepctive entirely from a woman's POV in her own words about the current situation:
...just like large number of men sympathize with and understand that many women would want to avoid a state like Texas because it does not offer a fair deal to them with respect to abortion rights/laws, women should understand why many men are avoiding marriage now because it doesn't offer a fair deal to them either.
Wait. Did you just compare the right to abortion to men not wanting to get married?????????????????????
Well, there is a parallel, LB.
One side wants unfair divorce laws which overwhelmingly favor women.
The other side wants unfair abortion laws which overwhelimingly favor Rich White Men.
so what exists in the US are 2 polar opposites/extremes.
Extremism has a way of feeding off the other.
One side gets greedy, nasty, power hungry and vindictive, so the other bites back back and similary becomes greedy, nasty, power hungry and vindictive.
You have a very negative view of women. No wonder you're a bachelor, sounds like sour grapes to me to be honest.
Well, you can call me that if you like.
But if failing to completely endorse an agenda because I don't agree with all of it, then so be it.
Same time, I'm not as Black and White as you think.
Many men such as myself support abortion rights for women.
Sometimes it makes practical economic and political sense to support a socially unpopular position.
Anways, if you a choice between me as a political ally and the trogdalytes in Texas who wanna destroy women's rights and women in general, who would you choose?
Well, if your voice mattered her in the US, of course I'd pick you over the likes of the idiots in Texas. However, since that's an impossibility, I don't need you as an ally.
You have no idea how many women have been screwed by divorce as well. If you look at data related to poverty, it's mostly women and children that live in poverty in the US.
That's no accident.
That being said, I think you have unrealistic expectations of men.
Men are expected to uphold the traditional values of society and then are seeing their social status eroded.
You can't expect them to be strong for you if they keep getting knocked down.
Just like anti-aboritionists who have unrealistic expectations of women, a number of feminists (but certainly not all) have unrealistic expectaions of men.
Wait so having a job, contributing to their family financially and not being a dick is asking too much?
Is that what you’re asking or telling?
Asking.
I want to know what is "too much".
You’re stereotyping the male species. Housewife’s flaw!
It is in the context of marriage that I am "stereotyping". In a marriage, both partners should contribute to the family.
Depends on the sanity of either partner.
And I’ve noticed that you’ve resorted to hiding your online presence. Rookie error!
How am I hiding my online presence?
Seriously?
